I am a history buff and ever since I read about the Grandeur of Roman empire when I was a child, Rome is in my bucket list. We visited Rome in November 2018 not a good season to be in Europe but hey why not? Rome is full of sights, ancient ruins, palaces and everything that you would want to see from the capital of an ancient Republic. Rome is full of marvelous architecture right from Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Vatican City, Spanish steps and many more. Our trip was short for 5 days and we tried to cover the best of Rome keeping the rest for later.
So lets start!
Getting to Rome.
We visited Rome on ur return journey from Zurich. Our Swiss Air flight from Zurich landed in Fiumicino Airport(FCO). Fiumicino is connected to the city by the Leonardo Express Train which takes about 30 mins. For a cheaper alternative there is bus service available to Termini Station right outside the Airport. The journey takes around 1 hour and costs 6.
