Day 2
Shopping Day! We visited the local market called Banzaan Market. It was a typical south Asian market similar to wet markets in Singapore with different sections for seafood and vegetables in the morning but at night it becomes night market with lots of street food . You can even grab some nice cocktails for 90 baht, I tried the frozen ice-cream from the market and a coconut milkshake which were yummy.
We then went to Jungceylon for lunch. Most of the restaurants were full so we headed to food bazaar downstairs and they had an amazing spread of Thai dishes from all the regions. Food courts function in a different way there. We need to get the coupons for the dishes we want from the counter at the entrance before ordering at the shops.
Many of my friends here in Singapore said that Phuket is a shopping haven, but to be frank the goods sold in shopping markets are cheap but mostly fake. Almost all the stores have same collection of dresses and shorts, so the prices are the same everywhere. The only goods we found value for money were the essential oils and fragrance soaps which are more expensive in Singapore. After buying some sovereigns for the family we went back to the hotel. There are several road side vendors selling Pancakes with different flavors, when you are in Phuket, its a must try.
WOW these photos are spectacular !! Phuket seems like such insanely beautifully enchanting tropical paradise
This write up is pretty interesting and apart from all the other travel blogs which i have read so far this seems to be the best. Appreciate Ananya’s keen observation which has helped her in detailing every single bit of their travel. Photos are magnificent and they added cherry to the icing. The perfect combo is here, a good writer and a beautiful photographer made the blog worth reading. Long way to go Anu and AJ.
